Initial reactions have been mixed. While many viewers appreciated Samantha’s performance and the film’s emotional family elements, others felt that the script lost momentum in the latter half.

Some viewers are calling the film predictable

Not all responses were positive. An early review criticized the storytelling and execution describing the film as a familiar story that failed to generate enough engagement.

The review reads, “#MaaIntiBangaaram Familiar story, boring execution! A familiar and predictable story is told in a very flat manner from start to finish. Although the second half grows over the first, ineffective backstory, weak villain thread and lack of engaging moments make it difficult to invest. Emotion rarely lands, and the film struggles to build any real momentum throughout. Samantha is beautiful in her role and works in some fine comedic moments here and there. However, subpar BGM and uninspired narration prevent the film from making much of an impact. Below average. Rating: 2.25/5.”The review praised Samantha’s efforts but felt the film was let down by poor writing and an overwhelming narrative structure.

The first half received a positive response

Several viewers, however, gave a more favorable opinion. Many have praised the freshness of the storytelling in the early part of the film and highlighted Samantha’s performance.A review said, “#MaaIntiBangaaram – anything and everything for the ‘family’From the word go to pre-interval, the film oozes freshness and original ideas with subtle humor and intriguing narration and a few standout sequences. Throughout the first hour, the film had ‘blockbuster’ written all over it. @Samanthaprabhu 2 did a great job with her acting, and her dubbing deserves a special mention.”

The second half sparked controversy

The second half seems to be the biggest talking point among the audience.A review noted, “In the pre-interval, the tone of the film shifts from an innocent and innocent family entertainer to a serious drama and the serious tone continues till the climax. A few sequences and the climax action sequence in the second half brought huge cheers from the audience, but apart from that, the second half of the film basically went on the expected note without any twists and turns. A little more care in writing the second half would have taken the picture graph to the next level.Another viewer shared, “Maa Inti Bangaram takes a few dips in the second half, but a massively entertaining first half with stylish action blocks, makes it a good weekend watch that can be enjoyed with the family.”Among the most consistent points of praise is Samantha’s screen presence. One response read, “#MaaIntiBangaram feels so good to walk out of a theater with a truly satisfying experience. It’s basically the Kalisundam Ra Basha template, where instead of a man from the past, we get a woman from the past.Kalisundam Raa’s direction works brilliantly, interesting characters, quirky dialogues, and that emotional family drama is connected really well. But ‘The Past’ is where the film stumbles a bit. It required more dominant opponents and stronger collisions. It’s not bad, Gulshan Devaiah keeps the tension high whenever he’s on screen, but the character deserves a better written conflict.”Another viewer wrote, “Samantha carries the entire film effortlessly like a true star. The action choreography is slick and stylish, and deserves a special mention. The BGM enhances the narrative beautifully and adds a lot of impact to the action blocks, making those moments even better.” A number of supporting roles also leave an impression, especially Ansuya played by Sreemukhi and Kiranmoyi played by Manjusha. After a solid second half, the film sinks a bit in places before ending on a very satisfying note. MUNCHY SUMMER BOMB!!”The family adventure drama marks Samantha’s theatrical comeback after the 2023 releases ‘Shakunthalam’ and ‘Kushi’.
