Citroen recently launched the facelifted eC3X in India. This affordable electric crossover goes up against Tata Punch EV, one of the best-selling electric cars in the country. The price, range, power specs, features and more of the two electric cars. Let’s take a closer look at how it stacks up on paper.

Citroen eC3X vs Tata Punch EV: Battery pack and range

The Citroen eC3X continues with a 29.2kWh battery pack paired with a front-mounted electric motor that produces 57bhp and 143Nm of torque. The company claims a driving range of up to 320 km on a full charge, with a top speed of 107 km/h. The Tata Punch EV offers two battery options. The smaller 30 kWh battery provides a claimed range of around 375 km, while the larger 40 kWh battery offers up to 468 km on a full charge. The long-range version also produces significantly more power, with output rising to 127bhp, while the smaller unit delivers 87bhp and 154Nm of torque.

The interior of the eC3 X has been significantly updated with a new Electric Blue themed dashboard with leather upholstery and two-tone white leather seats with blue accents. It also gets a new 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, connected car technology with over 40 functions, and electric auto-folding ORVMs. The Punch EV, especially in the higher trims, is loaded with features like dual digital displays (10.25 inches each for the instrument cluster and infotainment), ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone connectivity, connected car technology, a sunroof and a 360-degree camera.

Citroen eC3X is priced from Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom), buyers can also opt for the Battery as a Service (BaaS) scheme, which significantly lowers the initial cost of the car starting at Rs 6.89 lakh plus Rs 2.26 per km for battery subscription.The Tata Punch EV starts at Rs 9.69 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the more affordable entry point between the two ranges. Tata is also offering a BaaS program on the Punch EV, with a range starting at Rs 6.49 lakh and a battery EMI of Rs 2.6 per km.
