Recently, in an interview, when the filmmaker was told about it, he said that he felt extremely proud of it. Imtiaz is now back with another film, ‘My Vaps Aunga’ which is getting rave reviews from all. Meanwhile, his recent comments have sparked controversy on social media. The ‘Jab We Met’ director shares his thoughts on burqas and veils and says he’s not okay with talking about comfort with women.A viral video of her from this interview with Unfiltered by Samdish says, “I don’t like it when someone says ‘I’m comfortable in my burqa. I find comfort in my veil’. It’s a degenerate society, if you think like that, it’s not right.” He added, “It means you’re so victimized in your mind, I don’t know how.”In response, Samdish said, “Sometimes, I don’t even understand Imtiaz, because we talk to different groups in the society. Society goes on like this, one group talks to another group and eventually it’s just communities communicating with each other at some point. So, if let’s say there is a community, let’s say I’m different. We talk about what we can do by looking at each other. Live on the screen, I’ll live like this, and we all agree. So who am I to stop them? Am I Anko Tokunga Kya? I’m not one to hold others back.”To his reply, Imtiaz said, “Nay tokne wali baat nai hai. But people around me, my concern is not that I am stopping someone or going to someone’s house to talk. But there should be tolerance, moderation.
