Brydon Carse has been added to the England squad for the remaining two ODIs of the three-match series against India after completing his recovery from injury. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed the 30-year-old fast bowler’s inclusion on Tuesday, July 14, during the first ODI at Edgbaston. His return boosts England’s pace attack ahead of the final two games of the series.

Carse was on hiatus after sustaining wrist and elbow injuries while batting in the nets for Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the start of IPL 2026. The setback ruled him out of the game for several months before he began his comeback.To assess his readiness for international cricket, the England coach monitored his performances in the Vitality Blast, where he made three appearances for Durham. The call-up marks Carse’s first ODI squad selection since England’s tour of New Zealand in November 2025. The right-arm seamer has represented England in 30 ODIs, claiming 34 wickets.Having regained full fitness, Carse is now available for selection for the remaining matches of the series, with the second ODI scheduled in Cardiff on Thursday, July 16, followed by the series finale at Lord’s on Sunday, July 19.
