‘Ramayan’ trailer: Ranbir Kapoor starrer given ‘U’ certificate from CBFC; Two versions with a runtime of more than 4 minutes are allowed before release on July 24

The clock is ticking for the release of the much awaited ‘ trailer launchThe Ramayana‘, a new update has fans buzzing with excitement.The film, which will release its first official trailer in a few days, has already been certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). As per CBFC certificate, ‘Ramayana’, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi And Yash in the lead role, there will be two trailers instead of just one clip.

According to certification, the film’s trailer was given a ‘U’ (Universal) certificate on July 15, making it suitable for audiences of all ages from children to adults. Interestingly, the trailer is significantly longer than other theatrical previews

‘Ramayana’ trailer runtime released

The CBFC website currently lists two versions of the trailer. One trailer titled ‘Trailer – Ramayana 3D’ has a runtime of 4 minutes and 15 seconds, while the other, titled ‘Theatrical Trailer – Ramayana 3D’, runs for exactly 4 minutes. It remains to be seen if the one that releases online will offer more than 15 seconds of footage to fans, or if it will be reserved for viewers to watch on the big screen.

The upcoming trailers mark the film’s next big promotional asset The film’s first announcement video was unveiled on July 3, 2025, introducing the audience to the ambitious mythological epic. The makers released the ‘Ram First Look’ to coincide with the Hanuman Jayanti festival on April 2. The character trailer introduced the audience to Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and also teased the identity of Yash as Ravana’s antagonist. The clip had a runtime of 2 minutes and 38 seconds and also received a ‘U’ certificate from the CBFC.

The trailer’s CBFC certification comes just days after the makers announced in a social media post from their official handle, “From India to the world, Ramayana trailer premieres globally on 24th July, 2026.”The team released a statement that read, “For thousands of years, the Ramayana has inspired generations with its enduring ideals of religion, dignity, courage and mercy. Now, it embarks on a new journey. One of India’s greatest civilizational epics, presented to the world, never before attempted in Indian cinema.”
