Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon And Rashmika Mandanna shot several parts of their romantic entertainer ‘Cocktail 2’ on real locations, with Sicily and Delhi serving as the main backdrops. While the overseas filming progressed smoothly, the Delhi schedule reportedly brought its own set of challenges due to the deteriorating air quality in the city.A line producer associated with the film, Sumit Tyagi, recently shared an anecdote about the actor’s concern over pollution levels in Delhi during an appearance on The Shivam Podcast.
Shahid reportedly refused to go out without an air purifier
According to Tyagi, the production team was informed that Shahid Kapoor would not leave his vanity van for outdoor filming until air purifiers were arranged. The sequence was being shot in Cyber City, Gurugram, making the request difficult to implement as the location was completely open.Recalling the incident, he said, “It was for Shahid, so we can’t call them useless. Because Shahid said I won’t get out of the van. He would just remove the mask before shooting; otherwise, he would have been masked the whole time.”Tyagi further questioned the practicality of the arrangement, saying, “We were shooting in Cyber City. How can an air purifier help there? It’s all open.”
Attempt to accommodate production requests
The crew member revealed that five to six air purifiers were added at the last minute, despite initially being designed for indoor use. He clarified that Shahid’s concern about the poor AQI was understandable, but acknowledged that the equipment could do little to improve conditions during outdoor shoots.“So you don’t get hurt that your demands aren’t met and the production does its best,” explained Tyagi while describing the team’s efforts.

During the conversation, Tyagi also described Shahid Kapoor as “temperamental” and “manmauji” (free-spirited), claiming that the actor prefers to maintain professional boundaries and focuses primarily on his own work.This is not the first time that Shahid’s on-set habits have hit the headlines. Earlier, his ‘Kabir Singh’ co-star Kiara Advani revealed on ‘Koffee With Karan’ that the shoot was delayed for a few hours while the actor decided on shoes for a particular scene.
