'Avengers: Endgame' set for re-release with new title 'Avengers: Endgame Encore'; To show additional footage associated with 'Doomsday'

With the clock ticking down on the release of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, Marvel Studios has officially announced plans to bring one of its biggest blockbusters – ‘Avengers: Endgame’ – back to theater screens.

‘Avengers: Endgame’ will be re-released with a new title

After teasing the re-release last year and officially confirming plans to bring the film back to the big screen during CinemaCon 2026, ‘Endgame’ will officially re-release this September as ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’. According to a report by Deadline, the film will not only release with an updated title, but will also feature additional footage and a new post-credits scene, which is said to ‘bridge’ the film to the next chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe – ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.While the new title is only a minor change, the release is more than a standard theatrical rerun. Marvel is reportedly presenting it as a theatrical event, designed to help set up the storyline for the next two films that will conclude the multiverse saga.

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Connection with ‘Avengers: Endgame’

However, it’s still unclear how the re-release will connect the events of ‘Endgame’ to ‘Doomsday’, considering that the MCU branched out significantly in the seven years between the two films’ releases. Many of the characters confirmed for ‘Doomsday’ were not involved in the events of Endgame, including members of the Thunderbolts team, the Fantastic Four and returning characters from Fox’s X-Men universe. However, several heroes like Steve Rogers aka Captain America, Thor, Ant-Man, Sam Wilson, Bucky Burns, M’Baku and Shuri, who were expected to appear in ‘Doomsday’, played a crucial role in defeating Thanos in the endgame.

To reveal the purpose behind ‘Avengers: Endgame’ The Rampage of Doctor Doom

The relaunch may also revisit the ‘Avengers’ time-travel mission and the consequences of the multiverse saga.‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’ could give audiences a new look at how the Avengers undo Thanos’ snap, ultimately contributing to the multifaceted crisis that is expected to be the inspiration behind Doctor Doom’s rampage across timelines and the multiverse. The report also noted that the film will be screened in theaters carrying Disney’s Infinity Vision certification, which verifies that movies meet certain standards for screen size, sound quality and projection performance.‘Doomsday’ is all set to hit the screens on December 18.
