The Staff Selection Board has reopened the application window for the 2026 Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examinations after receiving multiple requests from candidates who were unable to register within the original deadline.SSC released the notice for the 2026 Postgraduate Joint Examination on May 21, 2026, and opened the online application process until June 22, 2026. According to the commission, more than 2.8 million candidates successfully submitted their applications during this period, underscoring the huge popularity of one of India’s largest recruitment exams.Despite the high number of applications, the committee said it received representations from several candidates about various difficulties that prevented them from completing their applications by the deadline. Keeping these issues in mind, SSC has decided to provide additional opportunities to eligible candidates.
Application window is open until June 25
According to the latest announcement, the online application portal has been reopened for two days. Candidates can now submit their applications between 11:00 pm on June 23, 2026 and 11:00 pm on June 25, 2026.The committee also revised the timetable related to the review process. As the application deadline has been extended, the new deadline of June 25, 2026 will be considered as the key date for determining the applicable eligibility criteria in the examination notification.
Payment deadline extended
Candidates who submit their applications within the extended period can pay the fees online before 11:00 pm on June 26, 2026.SSC advises applicants to complete the registration and fee payment process well in advance of the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues or excessive traffic on the portal.
Modify revision window date
The extension also resulted in changes to the application correction schedule. The “Application Form Correction Window” will now remain open from July 1 to July 3, 2026 until 11:00 pm.The facility will allow candidates to view and correct the permissible details in the application form submitted before proceeding to the next stage of the examination process.
There are no other changes to the exam notification
Apart from the revised application related dates, the board also clarified that all other terms and conditions mentioned in the Joint Graduate Level Examination 2026 notification issued on May 21 will remain unchanged.The SSC CGL examination is one of the most popular recruitment exams in the country, attracting lakhs of graduates every year to fill vacancies in various central government departments and ministries.
