Pankaj Tripathi He fled to Patna after allegedly attacking his elder brother Vijendra Nath Tiwari with an ax in Bihar’s Gopalganj district over a land dispute.The incident took place on Sunday evening in Belsand village under Madhopur police station. According to police officials, Tiwari suffered multiple stab wounds and was initially admitted to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital before being referred to Patna for specialized treatment.Those close to the family said that Pankaj had reached Patna to be by his brother’s side. “Pankaj has reached Patna to visit his brother. Considering the situation, he is not in a condition to talk right now,” Hindustan Times quoted a person close to the family as saying, adding that Vijayendranath suffered multiple injuries and is currently in stable and non-life-threatening condition.

According to PTI, the police said the attack was carried out over a long-standing land dispute. Additional Director General (Law and Order) Sudhanshu Kumar said Vijendra Nath Tiwari was attacked with an ax following a property dispute in the village.Investigators arrested neighbor Rajesh Shah in the case. The Gopalganj Superintendent of Police’s office confirmed that a forensic team visited the spot and recovered the alleged weapons along with bloodstained clothes believed to belong to the accused.

Speaking about the investigation, Sadar SDPO-2 Rajesh Kumar said Tiwari was filling soil near his house when he was allegedly attacked from behind.“The earlier dispute was over land. Vijendra Nath Tiwari was filling soil near his house when the accused attacked him from behind using an ax and a sharp weapon. The victim is undergoing treatment in Patna. The matter is being investigated, and all those involved in the attack, including the main accused, will soon be sent to jail,” he was quoted as saying by IANS.Authorities have launched a manhunt to nab the other absconding accused. The police have assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible as the investigation continues.
