The winners of the 72nd National Film Awards, honoring the best achievements in Indian cinema across feature films, non-feature films and writing on cinema, were announced by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in New Delhi on Saturday. Karthik Aaryan, Mammootty shared the Best Actor award
The jury honored two performances in the Best Actor category. Karthik Aaryan was recognized for Chandu Champion, with critics praising his physical transformation and commitment to portraying Paralympian Murlikant Petkar. Veteran star Mammootty was honored for his haunting performance in Rahul Sadasivan’s Brahmayugam, a role that won widespread acclaim from audiences and critics.
