Sai Pallavi talks about how she prepared to play Sita in ‘Ramayana’
During the event, the famous actress, who made her Bollywood debut with ‘Ek Din’ earlier this year, discussed her portrayal of mother Sita in the upcoming film, sharing that she meditated to prepare for the role. He shared that, “It’s not easy for actors to get a role like this. Because playing a goddess is not easy. You have to have a team that puts their heart and soul into making it the best version.”She added that it felt like she was “chosen” to play the role, sharing, “I don’t think I was chosen to play Sita Maa. I am blessed to play this role. It’s not something you can go back to and it’s not something you can write down and say, this is how I want to play. I would sit and meditate and say, Mother Sita, you work through me. Whatever comes through me is what you want for the film.”He also commented on how he kept himself ‘pure’, commenting that “I’ve always kept myself as pure as possible, at least in my mind, to keep it very neutral. So there’s the best version of my presentation.”

The famous director behind the film was also present at the event, and had nothing but good things to say about the leading ensemble of ‘Ramayan’. Taking to the stage, Nitesh Tiwari shared that “An actor’s eyes tell the truth. I saw Ram in Ranveer’s eyes and Sita in Sai’s eyes. I felt sincerity, I was searching, I found only in this beautiful soul. I don’t see Sai and Ranveer; I see only Sita and Ram in the film.”

While the trailer will be officially shared with the world on July 24 at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, a few people who attended the Bharat Mandapam event yesterday got a glimpse of it during a special screening. Most of the cast members were present at the event.
