Samantha once opened up about family planning
As Screen said, a few years before her current marriage, Samantha spoke candidly about her hopes of starting a family. During one such conversation, the actress revealed that she and Chaitanya have already discussed a timeline to welcome their first child.Addressing the matter with humor, Samantha said, “The date is fixed! Like, it’s going to happen as per our scheduled date! But Chai (Naga Chaitanya) seems sure that it will happen on the scheduled date!” He added, “But we definitely have a timeline for when we want to have children.”During the same conversation, Samantha explained that having a child would significantly change her professional priorities. The actress admitted that she envisioned devoting herself entirely to motherhood in the early years of her child’s life.“When I have a child, that child is going to be my universe. I have the greatest respect for working mothers. My childhood was not very rosy. For all adults, who have not had a very rosy childhood, they will first tell you that they want to give their child everything that they did not have. This is something that stuck with me. So I think I’ll be nowhere for the first few years after I have kids. That baby will be everything to me,” she shared.
‘Shakuntalam ‘ was his last picture before the break
Years later, during the promotions of ‘Shakunthalam’, producer Neelima Guna recalled a conversation that shed more light on Samantha’s plans at the time. According to her, the actress requested to finish the filming within a certain schedule as she wanted to focus on family life later.Neelima revealed, “Last year itself, when my father director Gunasekhar Garu and I approached Samantha for Shakuntlam, she liked the story and was very excited about it, but she told us that if she wanted to take up the role, she should finish shooting by July/August this year. She told me that she was planning to start a family and that she wanted to be his mother.”The producer also explained that Samantha initially saw ‘Shakunthalam’ as her final project before taking an extended break from acting. The team has reportedly adjusted their schedule to accommodate his plans.“As soon as he heard that, he was very happy and onboarded. He told me that this will be his last film and after that, he wants to take a long break and have children, plan his family. Even with the schedule, we never took a break because we wanted to accommodate this request from his side,” added Neelima.However, life unfolded differently.
