Nissan India is all set to launch the all-new Nissan Tekton SUV in the Indian market. Ahead of its arrival, the company has confirmed that the new SUV will make its global debut on July 9 in Mumbai. Now, Nissan has released a new teaser image that reveals the full front design. The teaser also carries the tagline “Make way for your doubt”. Meanwhile, Nissan calls the upcoming Tekto “Baby Patrol” and points out that its design inspiration comes from the brand’s flagship Patrol SUV.At the front, the new Nissan Tekton SUV features a wide front grille with a red horizontal stripe running across it and an illuminated Nissan logo in the center. The SUV also features signature full-width LED DRLs linked to headlamp units that incorporate L-shaped lighting elements. Other exterior highlights include a hood sculpted with prominent character lines, a central hood scoop and Tekton badging.At the rear, the SUV will be equipped with a roof-mounted spoiler, raked windshield, C-shaped integrated taillights and a large bumper. In terms of dimensions, the SUV is expected to be similar to the new Renault Duster with dimensions of 4345mm length, 1815mm width, 1703mm height and 2657mm wheelbase.

The Tekto is expected to share engine options with the new Duster. A 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder turbo engine with 100 horsepower and 160 Nm of torque is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Another engine is a 1.3-liter, 4-cylinder, turbocharged gasoline engine with 163 hp and 280 Nm of torque, 6-speed DCT or 6-speed manual. There’s also a larger 1.8-liter hybrid gasoline engine with 109 horsepower, paired with a 49 horsepower electric motor and a 20 horsepower hybrid starter generator (HSG) paired with a 1.4 kWh (280 V) battery. Together, this configuration provides a combined system output of 160 hp and 172 Nm.Expected features include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, dual-zone climate control, power liftgate, 6-way power and ventilated front seats, 48-color illumination, push-button start/start. modes and more.
