‘If you’re feeling stressed’: NTA ensures fair conduct of NEET UG re-examination, launches mental health helpline

As NEET UG 2026 approaches, the National Testing Agency (State Administration of Taxation) has sent a message to candidates asking them to remain calm and trust their preparation. With just three days left until exams, the agency said students should focus on doing their best and avoid being distracted by rumors or unverified information. The NTA said the exams will go ahead as scheduled and urged candidates not to be affected by speculation of possible postponement. It advises students to rely only on official communications issued by the institution. To reassure candidates, the National Examinations Authority said it has made extensive arrangements for safe, secure and fair examinations. According to the agency, the measures were implemented in coordination with relevant ministries, state governments and security agencies.“The integrity of this process is our top priority and we have strong, multi-layered safeguards in place,” the NTA said, adding that any fraud would be dealt with firmly to protect honest candidates. The institution also referred to the May 3 decision to cancel exams amid allegations of question paper leaks, saying the move was entirely in the interest of students. “As soon as issues were identified, we took action to protect the fairness of the process for every bona fide candidate. We carried those lessons forward this time and further strengthened the system,” it said.Recognizing the stress that many students may be feeling, the NTA reminds candidates that support is available through the MANAS Mental Health Helpline 14416. “If you are stressed, know you are not alone,” the agency said, adding that asking for help is a sign of strength. The NTA also called on parents, teachers and the wider community to help students remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information. I hope everyone can support the candidates so that they can enter the examination room with confidence and peace of mind.
