Kajal Aggarwal Successfully built a career in Bollywood and South Indian film industry. Although she has worked with several top Hindi film stars, she has significantly reduced her Bollywood presence in recent years, after embracing motherhood. In a recent interview, the actor explained that his decision came from a desire to prioritize meaningful roles rather than simply increasing the number of projects.Kajol shared that the kind of opportunities she got in southern cinema matched her creative aspirations much better than what was offered in Bollywood. He said in an interview with Shubhankar Mishra, “I wasn’t getting the quality of work I had down south in Bollywood. The roles I wanted – my priority was quality over quantity, and South was giving me such roles in abundance, so why should I do average roles in Bollywood? My priority was quality movies. Language was no barrier for me. I enjoy the craft of filmmaking. It took me seven films to fall in love with my craft, but once I fell in love I was very committed.”The actor also highlighted a key difference between the two industries: professionalism when it comes to scheduling. According to Kajol, punctuality is one area where Bollywood can take inspiration from the South. “Bollywood should learn punctuality from the south. In Hindi films, nothing happens on time. In the south, they work by the clock. I am used to being on time, and I like it. In Hindi, time is very off.“When asked about the actor who made her wait the longest on the sets of the film, it was Kajol Salman Khan. Recalling the experience, she says, “Salman Khan made me wait for the longest time, and I was not used to that. I wondered what was going on. He would come in the afternoon or evening, so I would go to the gym on the set to exercise. I am used to the punctuality and discipline of southern cinema.”Reflecting on the changing landscape of South Indian cinema, Kajol observes that female characters are now being written with more depth and freedom. She believes the industry is moving away from outdated portrayals of women and embracing more progressive storytelling. “The South is now learning to write liberal roles for Bollywood female heroes and new age roles as well. They are no longer obsessed with female navels. I always drew the line and never did this type of role. You’re not putting fruit on my navel, boss!On the professional front, Kajal Aggarwal is gearing up for the release of The India Story. He is also part of it Nitesh TiwariIts Ramayana episodes 1 and 2, where she will portray Mandodari.
