Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has hit bowlers all over the park in the IPL. He did it in Under-19 cricket, domestic matches and India A matches. The 15-year-old is already being talked about as a player who could become the next big thing in cricket. But for all the runs and sixes, perhaps nothing compares to getting the Indian jersey.Millions play cricket in India and many dream of representing the country. Only a few get the chance to wear the blue jersey. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has now joined that lucky group after receiving his India kit ahead of the upcoming T20I series against Ireland. The teenager, who recently received his first senior India call-up, spoke about the moment and said he had fulfilled the dream that first attracted him to the game.At 15 years and 71 days, Sooryavanshi became the youngest player to be selected in the Indian senior men’s team, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s record 36 years ago.Tendulkar made his debut for India against Pakistan in 1989 at the age of 16 years and 205 days and remains the youngest Indian to play a senior international match. If Sooryavanshi takes the field during the upcoming tour, he will become the youngest player to debut for India in men’s international cricket.Speaking in a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Sooryavanshi said:“Words can’t explain it. The reason why I picked up the bat from day one and went to the practice field: that dream has now been fulfilled. The biggest step on that path has been completed today. I really can’t express this feeling in words.“I felt like I was in a dream when I saw that shirt; I couldn’t stop laughing. Sometimes things happen that you never imagined could happen. When it finally happens, you don’t know how to react. “That’s exactly how I felt.”BCCI shared the clip with the caption, “Ladies and gentlemen, the moment the nation has been waiting for has arrived! Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in #TeamIndia jersey. Be a witness to this incredibly special moment.”India will play two T20Is in Belfast on June 26 and 28 before traveling to England for a five-match series from July 1-11. The men’s cricket competition at the 2026 Asian Games begins on September 24, with the medal matches scheduled for October 3.Sooryavanshi’s selection follows a strong IPL 2026 season with Rajasthan Royals.
