Michael Johnston has responded to the possibility of a sequel to breakout horror film ‘Obsession’ saying that although it was a huge success at the box office, there are no plans for it. The 30-year-old actor discussed returning to the film but admitted the difficulties in recreating it.Johnston recently reflected on the film’s unexpected success and discussed the future direction of the franchise. While revealing the idea of a comeback, he clarified his current position to the audience. “Look, it’s a magical world. Anything can happen. I’d love it. I’d say, there’s no plan for it. Michael Johnston expressed particular enthusiasm for Barker’s proposed direction for the franchise. “Curry’s idea of it being an anthology series is really, really great. All different stories. I’d love to see a wish come true,” the actor said, indicating he would prefer an anthology approach rather than a direct sequel exploring the same characters and narrative.

Johnston also revealed that audiences witnessed a significantly different conclusion to the film. “There are a few different moments that we played around with. The biggest one would be… Nicky is finally going to make a decision. The first thing we did was actually film the gun going off and the blood splattering. It was practical, it was very scary and it was devastating,” he described of the original illustrated version.The darker version, in which Nicky dies, was eventually abandoned in favor of the ending shown in the released film, in which Nicky survives. Johnston revealed that Navarrete’s emotionally powerful performance in the film’s final scene was achieved in just one take, demonstrating the actress’ commitment to the material and the filmmakers’ satisfaction with her work.
