Ranveer opens up about fear of typecasting on Shree, admits 'I've always been haunted...'
Ranveer Shore says the fear of typecasting has always shaped his career choices, forcing him to take on different roles. Her co-star Parambir Cheema echoed the same concern. The two are currently seen together in Pyramid Scheme, an Amazon Prime Video series set in Haridwar and produced by The Viral Fever.

Ranveer Shorey has always been driven by a deep-seated fear of being typecast and this fear has shaped the roles he has chosen. Over the years, the actor has made a conscious effort to step out of his comfort zone, producing a diverse body of work spanning mainstream hits like ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Sing Is King’, and ‘Lakshya’; indie gems like ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’, ‘Wet Fry’, ‘Mithya’, ‘A Death in the Gunj’, and ‘Sonchiriya’; and popular OTT series such as ‘Metro Park’, ‘Sunflower’, and ‘Tabar’. This range firmly established him as one of the most versatile actors in the industry.

Ranveer Shorey is always trying something new

Speaking to PTI, Ranveer said, “I have never tried to repeat parts because I grew up on the edge of the filming business. The word ‘typecasting’ haunted me from the time I became an actor, and it has influenced many of my favourites. So, every time, I try something new and completely different. That’s the effort”.

The actor is currently starring in the series ‘Pyramid Scheme’, a show about the risky world of ambition, greed and making quick money. Her co-star Parambir Cheema, who also appeared on the show, spoke about how she has always tried to avoid being stuck in the same type of role. “The fear of repeating myself would haunt me. I would be offered mostly Punjabi roles, silent parts. For example, in ‘Border 2’, I had to convince the director (Anurag Singh) not to give me a role where I had to wear a turban (turban) and I could say Harianvi. The Amazon Prime Video series is produced by Shreenash Pandey and directed by Ashish R. Shukla and Pandey, with a script written by Aksendra Mishra. Besides Cheema and Shorey, the show has an ensemble cast Shekhar SumanAnjan Srivastava, Alfia Jaffrey, Ashish Raghav, Akhilendra Mishra, Smita Bansal, Vijay Kumar, Indresh Malik, Ravi Bhel, Sushant Singh, Sonal Jha, and Sadanand Patil.
