Neelam Kothari May be away from films, but she is in the spotlight through Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives and her recently launched YouTube channel. In one of her latest videos, the actress and her husband, an actor Sameer Sonilooked back on the early days of their romance and revealed a fun detail about their first date – which didn’t get a second outing for years.During a lunch date on her channel, Sameer asks Neelam if she remembers their first date. Hess replied, “Yes, I remember. I’ll never forget. You say, I want to see if you remember.”Sameer then recalled the memorable encounter, “I remember very well. I don’t remember which coffee shop we went to. I had a panic attack and was drenched in sweat soon after reaching there. We were having coffee, so I asked you if we could sit in the car.” You made me so nervous on our first date.”Neelam went on to reveal that despite finally getting married, the couple had only been on one proper date before this recent outing. “Sameer and I have only been on one date. We went on one date, and this is the second one. Yes, we go out with Aahna (daughter) and it’s fine, but we only had a romantic dinner date once,” he shared.Joining in, Sameer adds with a smile, “He used to talk on the phone for about three months, and then I asked him to at least meet.”Earlier, Sameer talked about how his relationship with Neelam started. Appearing on Ujjwal Trivedi’s YouTube channel in 2024, he revealed that a tarot card reader had once predicted that the name of the woman he would eventually marry would begin with the letter N and be associated with jewelry.“I met someone who was a tarot card reader. I don’t know if he paid him. The person told me that a woman whose name starts with N would come into my life and she would work in jewelry making,” he recalled.The description immediately made him think of Neelam, though he dismissed it as an unlikely coincidence at the time.Reflecting his admiration for her, Sameer said, “In her time, and she is still one of the most beautiful actresses. And my friends will say she is out of your league, don’t think about it.”Fate finally brought them together again after about a year and a half at a Diwali party. It was there that Sameer confessed to producer Ekta Kapoor that he was interested in Neelam. “Ekta introduced us,” he says, “I told Neelam I don’t usually say this, but I think you’re very beautiful. Then I said I’ll call you and I left. I didn’t even have her number.”Sameer revealed that similar interactions happened several times before he mustered up the courage to call her three years later. Describing the moment, she said, “I asked myself, why am I doing this? I should just talk to him. I called him but he didn’t pick up. It was 3 in the morning. The next morning, my ego kicked in and I texted him. ‘You don’t believe in returning calls,’ and he texted back, ‘How do I know it’s you?'”Once they started spending time together, both were sure about the future of their relationship. “If we stay together, we’ll get married, so that’s how we looked at each other from the beginning,” Samir shared.Neelam Kothari and Sameer Soni tied the knot in 2011 and later welcomed their daughter Ahana Soni in September 2013.
