Salman KhanThere is a new update on the film ‘Matri Bhoomi’ which has been facing multiple delays. On Monday, the makers of the film released a new poster confirming that Bhaijaan’s upcoming war drama will hit the theaters in 2026.
New poster of ‘Matri Bhumi’
Sharing the poster on X, the production house wrote, “A soldier’s commitment. A family’s strength, a nation’s pride.” The new poster has once again fueled the excitement among fans who are waiting for the official update on the film’s release. Looking at the post, the director is not mentioned in the latest poster. Instead, it simply says, “A film by Salman Khan Films.” However, the makers have not shared any explanation about the change.
‘Motherland’ is the primary title
Earlier this year, the film’s title was changed from ‘Battle of Galwan’ to ‘Matribhumi: May War Rest in Peace’. Along with announcing the title, Salman Khan shared a poster bearing the message, “May War Rest in Peace.”

Directed by Apurva Lakhia, ‘Matrubhoomi’ is inspired by the June 15, 2020, Galwan Valley clash, where Indian troops fought hand-to-hand with Chinese troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).The clash left 20 Indian soldiers dead and became one of the most serious military clashes between India and China in recent decades.In the film, Salman Khan plays Colonel Santosh Babu, the commanding officer of 16 Bihar Regiment, who leads his troops during the border conflict.Along with Salman Khan, Chitrangada Singh played the heroine in this film. Abhilash Chowdhury and Ankur Bhatia will also be seen in important roles.The music of the film is directed by Himesh Reshammiya.Although the makers are yet to announce the exact release date, they have confirmed that it will release this year.
