Actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran The ‘Lucifer’ star has shared an exciting update for fans of the franchise Mohanlal led byWhile promoting his upcoming film ‘I, Nobody’, the actor confirmed that a third installment of the blockbuster series is in the plans.Speaking to The Q Studios, Prithviraj revealed that the makers always wanted ‘L2: Empuraan’ to serve as the middle chapter of a larger story.“When we made ‘Lucifer’, we weren’t sure whether the story would continue in the second or third film. But when we were filming ‘Mpuran’, we were confident that the trilogy would be complete with the third installment,” he said.
Murali Gopi’s story is ready’L3 ‘
Prithviraj also revealed that writer Murali Gopi has already developed the story for the next chapter. According to the actor, the team deliberately shaped Empuran in a way that would naturally lead to the final film.He explained that the creative team has a clear roadmap to complete the trilogy. “Murali has a clear idea about the story of the third part, and he has shared it with me and is very excited about it and we want to do it,” said the ‘Khalifa’ actor.
Busy line-up may delay ‘L3’
While Prithviraj confirmed that L3 is happening, he admitted that timing the project will be a challenge. Both the actor and filmmaker currently have multiple commitments.Apart from ‘I, Nobody’, she has several other big projects lined up including ‘Baranasi’ with SS Rajamouli, Mahesh Babu and ‘Odean: The Age of Illusion’ directed by Rahul Sadasivan.With a packed calendar ahead, Prithviraj hinted that finding the right production window for L3 may take time.

During the promotions of ‘I, Nobody’, Prithviraj also spoke warmly about his co-star Parvathy Thiruvothu. The film marked another collaboration between the two actors after acclaimed films like Ennu Ninte Muideen and Kude.In an interview with Gallatta Plus, Prithviraj praised Parvathy’s understanding of filmmaking. He said his vision goes beyond acting and extends to the overall quality of a project.“Parvathy is an incredibly intelligent actor. I don’t just mean her acting skills. I don’t think she judges by how much she has to do in a script. He understands when a script has the potential to be a great film and knows that he can make it better by being a part of it,” he shared.Prithviraj also believes that Parvathy has the creative instinct to become a filmmaker. “I have known him for a long time and I truly believe that he will become a wonderful director one day because he understands cinema at that level,” said Prithviraj.Directed by Nisam Bashir, ‘I, Nobody’ stars Parvathy Thiruvothu alongside Prithviraj and is slated to hit theaters on July 9.
