Ram Charan praised Ranveer SinghIts Dhurandhar franchise, described it as a “terrifying, fantastic, unprecedented” cinematic experience and attributed its massive success to the way it was received by audiences across India.The actor spoke about the blockbuster franchise during his appearance at Republic Summit, where he revealed that he recently watched Dhurandhar on an OTT platform.

‘It brought the country together’

Sharing his thoughts on the film, Ram Charan said, “It was a great, fantastic, phenomenal film. Everything fell into place in it, right, at the right pace.”He highlighted the importance of films that promote national unity.“Should more films like this come out? Of course. National integrity, like the first India, is very important in our upcoming films. It has brought the country together,” he added.

Box office numbers reflect audience acceptance

Ram Charan also highlighted the phenomenal box office run of the franchise, saying that the collections reflect the audience’s love for the film.“It has become the highest grosser; it has grossed over Rs 1800 crore. Why would that be? Box office numbers are not something, the number of people who have accepted it, and the theatrical run is what matters.”According to the actor, audience support is the biggest measure of a film’s success.“If the people of India own it and want it to happen, why not? It is doing good for our nation,” he added.

Dhurandhar’s record-breaking run

Directed by Aditya Dhar and titled by Ranveer Singh, Dhurandhar released in December 2025 and grossed Rs 1,300 crore worldwide.The sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, hit theaters in March this year and grossed over Rs 1,800 crore worldwide. The film emerged as the second-highest-grossing Hindi film of all time after Dangal.Both films are currently available to stream on Netflix and JioHotstar.
