Without naming anyone, Joju alleged that the campaign was purposely aimed at tarnishing his image. He also suggested that such practices are not limited to one person or one family in the industry.According to the actor, paid promotional campaigns have become increasingly common in Malayalam cinema. However, he stopped short of identifying any of the people he was talking about.

During the live conversation, Joju elaborated on his allegations claiming that several well-known personalities of the Malayalam film industry were using paid PR tactics. “I am aware of such activities, but I will not reveal any names or give details,” he said.The actor’s comments came at a time when Bhaaravu has faced mixed negative reactions after its theatrical release. The movie, directed by Shaji Kailas, has been facing criticism for its 90s-style storytelling and execution, which most viewers have termed outdated.

According to a report by Filmbeat, the film earned an estimated Rs 51 lakh across India on its first day. According to statistics shared by Cine Times X Page, the film sold around 10.31 thousand tickets during its advance booking period. On the first day of release, another 25.58K tickets were sold, taking the overall ticket sales to around 35.89K.Apart from Joju George, ‘Bharaavu’ also stars Sania Ayyappan, Arjun Ashokan and Murali Gopi in lead roles.
