NEW DELHI: Amid the growing football fever during the ongoing FIFA season, Indian cricketer Yashasvi Jaiswal was spotted enjoying the Round of 16 match between France and Sweden at the New York New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford.The Instagram reel was titled “Bucket List”, highlighting the cricketer’s long-standing desire to watch a FIFA match and his interest in football.Although France and Sweden were playing, Jaiswal showed where his loyalties lie by carrying Lionel MessiArgentina’s number 10 shirt for the match, reflecting his admiration for the football icon as he soaked up the atmosphere of the competition.Watch:Away from the Indian team, Jaiswal seemed to take most of the time freely.The opener was left out of the squad following the inclusion of veteran batsman Rohit Sharma, which sparked a lot of speculation, as Rohit was under scrutiny for a long time.A day after scoring an unbeaten 110 against Afghanistan in Chennai, the 24-year-old was dropped from India’s ODI squad for the series against England.Since then, Jaiswal has been away from competitive action.Being one of only six batsmen to score a hundred per cent in all three formats for the Men in Blue, Jaiswal enjoyed another successful spell with the bat.Jaiswal is expected to return to action in the upcoming two-match Test series against New Zealand in India in November.
