John Oliver has confirmed that he will appear on ‘General Hospital’ for three episodes in the first week of July.

Emmy-winning host and executive producer John Oliver Landed a role on the long-running American soap opera General Hospital. After months of launching a ridiculous campaign to score a part on the show, her wish has officially come true, with her appearance confirmed for episodes airing in July.

John Oliver Introduction to ‘General Hospital’

John Oliver confirmed on the June 28 episode of his show that he will appear on General Hospital. After the announcement, he shared a statement that read, “General Hospital was everything I hoped it would be. It’s a true honor to be a small stain on the history of this iconic show.”The comedian will appear in three episodes of General Hospital, which will air July 2, 3 and 6 on ABC.According to People, citing a press release, Oliver landed the three-episode role after publicly campaigning for a part on the show in March. General Hospital executive producer Frank Valentini said in the release, “When John Oliver publicly threw down the gauntlet and said he wanted to appear on a soap, we didn’t hesitate for a second. He was everything you’d expect: prepared, professional, funny and genuinely kind to everyone on set.” She plays an integral role in the story and I can’t wait for fans to see who she crosses paths with in Port Charles.”

Oliver made the plea during last week’s March 8 episode of Tonight With John Oliver. Speaking of her admiration for General Hospital, she jokingly lobbied for a “juicier” role in the long-running drama.General Hospital is one of the longest-running soap operas in American television history and has aired for more than six decades. The series airs on ABC and is also available to stream on Hulu. Over the years, it has won 18 Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Daytime Drama.
