New Delhi: India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is in a race against time for the three ODIs against England starting July 14 in Birmingham. TimesofIndia.com has learned that the BCCI medical team has advised the youngster for a longer period of rest and he is yet to begin rehabilitation. He was recently ruled out of the T20Is against Ireland and England due to discomfort in his left quadriceps.It is believed to be minor – a pull that has kept him out of action since the third ODI against Afghanistan in Chennai. Management is closely monitoring his progress and is optimistic about his return to the team next month. At the moment, the chances of that happening in England remain slim, and the Zimbabwe T20Is could be a viable option for a return to competitive cricket. He expects the selection to be called soon.The Indian squad for the ODI against England will be assembled in series. Some players, including the captain Shubman Gill and wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul, are likely to arrive early to begin their preparations.
