Acclaimed filmmaker SS Rajamouli is currently on his European tour and has a permanent place at the Cinematheque Francais in Paris. The event became even more special as Oscar-winning filmmaker Costa-Gavras attended the celebration and spent nearly eight hours watching Rajamouli’s film and masterclass.
SS Rajamouli was honored in Paris
The ‘Varanasi’ director X (earlier on Twitter) shared his happiness. He wrote, “It’s an honor to be here in Paris and show my film. But a sweet surprise that I never saw coming. It’s a feeling I can’t quite put into words. To have a permanent place in the halls of one of the world’s legendary film institutions, named after the great Henri Langlois, is something I will carry with me forever.”“Further sharing his gratitude, he thanked everyone who made this moment possible. “My deepest gratitude to the legendary Mr. Costa Gavras and the entire Cinemathèque Française family for this honor and embrace Indian cinema Like with warmth and love,” he added.Interestingly, Costa-Gavras only planned to visit RRR and return another day for Ega. After seeing the first film, he changed his plans and returned with his wife for the remaining screenings and masterclasses.

SS Rajamouli’s son and filmmaker SS Karthikeya shared the special moment on his social media handle where he revealed, “93-year-old Academy Award winner and legendary French filmmaker Mr. Costa Gavras came to see RRR yesterday and @ssrajamouli said he’ll be back tomorrow for eleven, skip it, but today we have 8 hours with Baahubali and was amazed with his wife today.
