Kunal Khemu talks about the shooting of ‘Golmaal 5’
Following a recent picture shared by the ‘Golmaal’ team that has fans buzzing, Kunal Kemmu has confirmed that shooting for the next installment of the franchise is actively underway. Reuniting with his co-stars, he said, brought back a wave of nostalgia. In an interview with India Today, he shared, “We’re still making that film. We’re shooting for it. It’s been fun meeting all of them and going back to the characters we played 7-8 years ago and even earlier. As the teaser says, they’ve been doing it for 20 years; I joined the third one, but it was great fun to be on that set.”The actor added, “And I really hope that it translates into something that people will enjoy as much because I know it’s probably one of the most loved franchises in the Hindi film industry. We all hope that it delivers to the standards of the fans.”Kunal became a part of the franchise in 2010 with ‘Golmaal 3’ and has continued to be an important member of the film series ever since.
‘Madgaon Express 2′ update
During the conversation, Kunal also had good news for fans eagerly awaiting his 2024 directorial debut, ‘Madgaon Express’. Confirming that work on the sequel has already started, he said, “I am aware of the fans’ demands. And yes, it is in the works. I have actually written it. But there is time.”

Answering a question about his acting career after his foray into directing, Kunal said, “I think in the beginning some people asked me, ‘Are you going to act now?’ I said, of course, it’s my first love, and I always will. But I think now they know, and I did something like ‘Single Papa’ after ‘Madgaon Express’ and then I cast myself in my next film ‘Vibe’. Now I’m doing it (‘Alliance’), so yeah, and I think if the message isn’t there, I’m just putting it out there – ‘I’m still acting’!”
