Just days away from its big screen debut, ‘Alpha’ has ticked one of the final boxes before release. D Alia Bhatt And the Sharbari starrer has now been given its censor certificate, which will be better understood by the audience when the action thriller hits the theaters this week.
Alia Bhatt’s ‘Alpha’ gets UA 16+ certificate
As reported by News18, Shiv Rawel directed ‘Alpha’ has received UA 16+ certificate from Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film is set to release in theaters worldwide on July 3 and marks Alia’s first full-length action role. The CBFC list has also released the film’s runtime, confirming that ‘Alpha’ will clock in at 140 minutes or 2 hours and 20 minutes.

Apart from the certification, the CBFC website also shared the official synopsis of the film, giving fans a glimpse into Alia’s character, Sita. It reads, “Driven by revenge, a young girl destroys anyone in her path until her journey uncovers the hidden truths of her own life. She is brave, cold and ready to cross any line, to hurt anyone who stands in her way.”

Featuring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in the lead roles, the film also features Bobby Deol And Anil Kapoor to play an important role. It is the seventh entry in the spy universe and the fourth stand-alone film in the franchise, following in the footsteps of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, ‘War’, ‘Paathan’, ‘Tiger 3’ and ‘War 2’. With ‘Alpha’, the franchise welcomed Alia as its first female spy.
