This money will be used by the charity to fund around 9000 meals.Speaking about the donation, the organization’s CEO, Rachel Biggs, said, “We had an email saying ‘This is not a scam, please contact the foundation.’ They said, ‘We’re going to give you £20,000.’ It’s an incredible amount of money that will make such a difference and replenish our empty shelves.” Biggs also revealed that this is one of the largest donations ever given to them by a celebrity, for which they are extremely grateful. He further shared, “What’s great for us [is] It helps raise the profile and what Metallica is doing is bringing their fans together, bringing the local community together. When this donation hits our bank account we will be able to place a bulk order and replenish stock and know we will have the support of the community for the rest of the year.” He estimates their operating expenses for this year will go up to 700,000 GBP.Two weeks before the donation, the charity posted online about funding shortfalls and “empty shelves” and made a public appeal for donations to power food for those in need as it ran out of essential supplies.
