Sunita Ahuja reveals why she decided to participate in ‘Lock Up Season 2’ despite receiving offers from several reality shows. She said her decision was based on her faith in the show’s team and her confidence that she would be looked after during the competition.Talking about the offers she received, Sunita told Screen, “I was really offered many reality shows-Rise and Fall, The 50, Traitors, Alliance, but I chose Lock Up. I have no hard feelings for any other show; I thought if I do Lock Up, I will be taken care of properly. I am not afraid of myself. I will never change what I have seen. From this show, people will know what Sunita Ahuja is. I am very fit mentally and physically; I know how to handle all situations. I am not afraid of work; I don’t lie, so I’ll do well. But it also depends on luck.”
Govinda He was concerned about the decision
Swami Govind also shared how Sunita reacted when she announced about joining the reality show. He said that the actor was deeply concerned about his well-being and feared that someone inside the house might hurt him emotionally. He revealed, “Govind was very tensed. He said, ‘May ne apai bivi ko phul ki tarh pala hai, usko andar kisi ne dukh de diya to oh rone lagegi.’ (‘I take care of my wife like a flower; if someone hurts her inside, she will cry’.) He was very anxious that no one mistreats his wife. Govinda is concerned that no one hurts me or makes me cry. He was very concerned about why I was doing this show. But he does not know that his wife is very strong, can endure and quarrel with everyone. This is not a family event, so I will not tolerate anyone talking about my family. Govinda is very senior, so no one can point a finger at him. I am his wife; I can say what I want, but no third party can talk about him.”During her appearance on the show, Sunita also revisited a statement she had made earlier that she wanted a son like Govinda instead of a husband like him. Explaining the context, she reflected on the strength required to stand by a partner through the ups and downs and difficult phases of their marriage. She said, “In love, you should endure everything. Chi Chi has had many incidents in her life; well, heroines have that. I think after being by Chi Chi’s side for so many years, I deserve a son like him.”
Response to the troll about the shooting incident
Sunita also spoke about the rumors that were spread after Govinda’s accidental shooting incident. Rejecting the allegations, he clarified that he was not even in Mumbai then and dismissed the claims made by social media users. He said, “If you’re listening, listen carefully, brother. A bullet only hits someone’s knee when there’s a reason for it. I didn’t lie about that either. Look, I’m the truth. I wasn’t even in Mumbai so many people said I did it. I was in Khatu Shyam. And I never miss my target.”
Confident ahead of her reality TV journey
Sunita maintained that she is mentally and physically ready for the demands of reality television. She believes viewers will see her authentic self in Lock Up 2 and says she has no qualms about living under constant public scrutiny. She exuded confidence in dealing with work, conflicts and unexpected situations within the show while staying true to herself. For those unaware, season 2 of the show premiered on July 27.
