Ayana is the nephew of Agnihotri Salman KhanMaking her own way in the entertainment industry without relying on the privilege that comes with her famous family name. Despite having one of Bollywood’s biggest stars as his uncle, Ayan is determined to earn his place on his own merits and hard work. While working with Salman gave her valuable exposure and experience, she made it clear that she didn’t want to be spoon-fed or given a chance just because of her family connections.
What is the creative dynamic like when Ayan Agnihotri works with Salman Khan?
In a conversation with News18, Ayaan was asked about the creative dynamic of working with Salman and whether the uncle-nephew relationship takes a back seat when the cameras are on or does it actually add something special to the process. He said, “It’s a mix of both. Mumu is very particular about work. He expects you to do everything. You have to be there, you have to do the work and you have to take responsibility for it. He won’t hang around you. He will tell you, ‘This is what you have to do. This is who you need to do it. Now go ahead and get it done.’ So in many ways, it’s nice to know that at that point, it’s working. What will be must be. After that, of course, there’s an element of nurturing and mentoring that comes in.”He added, “But at the same time, he never hovers. He’s very clear that you have to do it first. Once you’ve done it, he’ll tell you what to say about it. But he’s not coming in and doing that part for you. It’s like, ‘Beat it. You figure it out. You write it. You figure it out with Vishal.’ Or, ‘Here I shot. This is the director. Now you go and think how you will take your part shot.’ So basically, he said, ‘Go and do it yourself. He will not help you at that stage, because it is your journey and your responsibility. But after that, he will always give his instructions.”
How does Ayan Agnihotri deal with nepotism tags and outside perceptions?
When asked about growing up in a family full of artists and what his relationship was like Salim Khan And on whether Salman helped him distinguish real family support from outside perceptions, and whether that clarity changed the way he presented himself as Agni, Ayaan gave a very grounded and refreshingly honest answer. He made it clear that the way things look on the outside is very different from the way things actually feel on the inside. “The way we look from the inside is completely different. We only have mum and nana,” he said. This is the ideal family setting for us. We do not see it from within. The relevance of that relationship is not based on social media counters or anything like that. Family is family. A unit is close as family first. What happens outside is not what we see at home. Ghar ke liye, it’s just family.”
