Veteran choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan opens up about a deeply emotional milestone in her career: choreographing for Aryan Khan in her much-anticipated directorial debut series, ‘The Ba***dis of Bollywood’. After decades of working with Shah Rukh Khan on some of Bollywood’s most iconic songs, Farah says working with SRK’s son has brought her journey in the most meaningful way.
Farah Khan is choreographing Aryan Khan’s ‘Gafoor’
While appearing on Shekhar Suman’s popular talk show ‘Shekhar Tonight’, Farah Khan reflected on her experience working on ‘Gafoor’, a high-energy special number featured on ‘The Buds of Bollywood’. Speaking with obvious pride, he described the moment as one of personal significance.He said, “I recently did ‘Gafoor’ with Tamannaah, and she loved it. I started with SRK, and now I choreographed under Aryan’s direction. I am so happy that the circle is complete.”Farah Khan’s relationship with Shah Rukh Khan spans decades. He choreographed the superstar in some of Bollywood’s most loved songs including ‘Chaiya Chaiya’ and ‘Dard-E-Disco’ and made his directorial debut in 2004 with SRK in ‘My Hoon Na’. Stepping onto Aryan Khan’s sets, therefore, felt less like a personal act and more like a professional one.
About the song ‘Gafoor’
Composed by Shaswat Sachdev and sung by Shilpa Rao and Ujjal Gupta, the track ‘Gafoor’ is a high-octane number that brings infectious energy to the series. Helmed by Tamannaah Bhatia, the song also stars Bollywood veterans Ranjith, Shakti Kapoor and Gulshan Grover. According to Farah, Tamannaah is absolutely thrilled with how the choreography came together.

While her father Shah Rukh Khan continues to reign in front of the camera, Aryan Khan has chosen to make her mark behind it. ‘Buds of Bollywood’ marks Aryan’s official foray into filmmaking as a director. Produced by Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment, the satirical comedy-drama features a powerhouse ensemble cast including Bobby Deol, Lakshya, Raghav Jual and Mona Singh among others. The series is one of the most eagerly awaited OTT projects in recent times.
