Anu Malik shared in an interview with IANS that their collaboration did not end with ‘Marg’, as they later worked together in ‘Awargi’, a film produced by Hema Malini herself. He recalls that the experience allowed him to engage more closely with his vision as a producer while creating the film’s musical identity.

Talking about his work experience, the composer highlighted how Hema Malini was involved during the music making process and how her feedback influenced his work. He says, “My first association with Hema ji was in the film ‘Marg’. Then we did ‘Awargi’ together, which was again produced by Hema ji. She inspired me a lot. She would always give feedback when I composed songs.” He also mentioned that his appreciation for his work in ‘Ek Chadar Meli Si’ was a memorable moment in his career. Malik added a strong personal compliment, saying, “There will never be a more beautiful person than Hema Malini,” he concluded.

Anu also spoke about her longstanding relationship with the Malik Deol family, describing a warm bond with Dharmendra and Sunny Deol over the years. He recalls that his relationship with Sunny Deol also extended to professional collaboration in cinema. He said, “I have always enjoyed a very close relationship with Dharam ji (Dharmendra). I was very close to Sunny (Deol).
