Veteran cinematographer Dilip Roy, one of the most successful names in Odia cinema, passed away at the age of 72 after a brief illness.According to a PTI report, Dilip Roy breathed his last at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on Friday night. A distinguished career behind the camera
Born in Cuttack on July 27, 1954, Dilip Roy developed an early interest in cinematography. To pursue his passion professionally, he studied at the Film and Television Institute (FTI) in Bangalore, where he received formal training in the craft.
Worked in multiple film industries
Dilip Roy has worked in more than 80 Oriya feature films and around 15 Bengali productions. His filmography also included several Chhattisgarhi films, documentaries and television serials.Notable films in her career include ‘Tisandhya’, ‘Mamata Ra Dora’, ‘Maji Pahar’, and ‘Vidhira Bidhan’.
