In an interview with News18, Arshad Warsi made a surprising revelation about the casting of Circuit’s onscreen wife. The actor revealed that Maria Goretti, who later starred in films like ‘Salam Namaste’, ‘Raghu Romeo’ and ‘Jane Hoga Kya’, was considered for the part.He said, “We even thought of calling Maria for this. Ghar ki murgi le ao! Raju ka beta, Meri Bibi – sab ko le ao, khada karo aur kaam pe laga do (laughs).”
Rajkumar Hirani talks about the nurse who became Circuit’s wife
In another little-known piece of film trivia, the actress who appeared as Circuit’s wife in the film actually played a nurse in the same film. Rajkumar Hirani, who was part of the interview, explained how he was spotted and cast on the spot, primarily due to budget constraints.He recalls, “Every other actress was taking money. We didn’t have the budget for it. We just needed someone for the film. I saw this girl walking that evening, and I asked my team who she was. They told me she was playing a nurse.”The director added, “I didn’t recognize him because he looked so different in the uniform. I told them, ‘Yeh toh pehchan mein vi nahi a rahi hai. Isko khada kar do yaar.’ We have not shown the circuit and any equation between it in the picture. For years, people couldn’t figure out who he was. It’s only recently that they’ve connected the dots.”
