Chidambaram’s ‘Balan: The Boy’ continues its steady run at the box office with a strong jump in collections on Day 8.According to Saknilk, the film collected Rs 1.93 crore nett in India on its eighth day. The latest figure represents a 96.9% increase over the Rs 98 lakh earned on Day 7.

The 8th day collection came from 1,427 shows across the country. The latest addition, Balan: The Boy has now collected Rs 13.22 crore nett in India.The film’s India total collection reached Rs 15.32 crore. It ended its first week with a total Indian nett collection of Rs 11.29 crore before adding another Rs 1.93 crore on its second Friday.The film also registered an overall Malayalam occupancy of 37.04% on the 8th day. The morning show recorded 14.67% occupancy, followed by 24.17% in the afternoon. The evening occupancy stood at 34.50%, while the night show registered the highest turnout of 47%.

Along with ‘Balan: The Boy’, Arya’s ‘Ananthan Kaadu’ also witnessed an increase in collections on its second day in theatres.According to Saknilk, the political action thriller earned Rs 99 lakh in India on Day 2. This number is a 52.3% increase over the Rs 65 lakh collected on the first day.After two days in theatres, ‘Ananthan Kaadu’ collected Rs 1.64 crore across India.
