Norton Motorcycles has launched the first Atlas motorcycle from TVS Motor Company’s manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The development comes ahead of the model’s official global debut scheduled for next month, with customer deliveries expected to begin in the third quarter of this year. The event highlighted the expanding collaboration between Norton and its parent company TVS Motor, combining British design and engineering expertise with Indian manufacturing capabilities.Atlas is one of the most important new products in Norton’s modern portfolio. The bike marks the British brand’s return to the adventure segment, while the Atlas GT will cater to sport-touring customers. Designed and engineered at Norton’s headquarters in Solihull, UK, the Atlas is powered by a 585cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with a 270-degree firing command. The engine is housed in a lightweight steel canopy frame. The bike is equipped with a Bosch six-axis IMU, lean sensitive rider aids, five configurable riding modes, fully adjustable KYB suspension, cornering cruise control, 8-inch TFT instrument display and smartphone connectivity via the Norton Rider app. While the Atlas uses a 19-inch front wheel to better suit adventure riding, the Atlas GT receives 17-inch wheels at both ends for a more road-oriented setup.Production of the Atlas series at the Hosur plant follows Norton’s decision to tap TVS Motor’s manufacturing capacity. The company’s Solihull plant is currently focused on the production of the Manx R superbike and has been selected as the production center for the Hosur Atlas and Atlas GT models, which are running at full capacity.Looking ahead, Norton plans to launch the Atlas in India later this year. The motorcycle is also expected to be sold through TVS’ premium retail chain called TVS Paddock, which is slated to launch in Q2 FY27. The new retail format aims to provide an exclusive ownership and customer experience for premium motorcycle buyers.
