Days after the resignation of the executive committee of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMAMA), veteran actor Mammootty shared his thoughts on the development.As reported by India Today, when reporters sought his reaction to the ongoing controversy, Mammootty responded, “I was wondering why you haven’t asked that yet.”The actor chose not to go into details, instead suggesting that people wait to undergo the process. Talking further about the situation, Mammootty stressed the importance of patience. He said, “Let things pan out, and a decision will be reached; that’s fine.”Mammootty added, “We can see things only as they unfold, right? The next moment is not in our hands, after all. All problems have to be solved, and they will be. They are just small things, right?”

Meanwhile, actor Shweta Menon publicly opened up about the circumstances surrounding her resignation.According to Shweta Menon’s Instagram note, she faced misinformation and allegations even before the AMMA elections. He also said that he is committed to his duties despite such challenges.In his statement, he wrote, “First part – I thank all those who have stood by me. But I think it is important that I put my words before the people. The reason why I resigned is because I am not willing to be a puppet for anyone. Even before the AMMA elections, people like Kriman Nandakumar, Martin Menachery and spread all kinds of propaganda against Menachery. That, I am an AMMA member. Won the election with majority support. I can assure them that I have done everything to the best of my ability.”
Call for transparency and audit
Shweta also alleged that efforts to check alleged irregularities by the previous administration were hampered.He wrote, “Unfortunately, some vested interests have ensured that we have not had the opportunity to investigate wrongdoing by some previous committee members. The accounts of the last two terms, including ours, should be thoroughly reviewed. A forensic audit should be commissioned to ensure full transparency and accountability.”The actor also faced criticism after his resignation.
